The Maremma is worth a visit just for an opportunity to savour the local food and wine.
The Tenuta Fattoria Vecchia offers a chance to taste the many flavours and fragrances of traditional Tuscan Maremma cuisine which is based on simple traditional recipes made using only high-quality local produce.
Then there are the local wines: as many as eight different DOC wines that have won numerous IGT awards are grown and produced in Maremma vineyards as part of a very ancient tradition that some argue dates back as far as Etruscan times.
DOC wines served at Fattoria (in the Montecucco and Morellino di Scansano areas) include the Bianco di Pitigliano, the Rosso di Sovana, the Parrina, the Capalbio DOC, the Monteregio di Massa Marittima, along with various Chiantis and an array of other Tuscan wines.
The internal restaurant will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The closing days are always available at the reception board and you’ll always know about it in advance. In case of closing day upon your arrival, we’ll inform you in advance, and – if you wish – we will book you an alternative restaurant in the area.
